Very fragrant, with sweet and attractive ripe fruit, greedy and full in the mouth, with well-measured tannins. Final aroma with sweet spices, making it an appealing and attractive wine.
VITICULTURE
Alfrocheiro appeared in the Dão region after phylloxera, although its origin is unknown. The vineyards are located in the sub-region of Silgueiros between 350 and 400 meters of altitude. The vineyard is managed within an integrated protection program, and the application of herbicides is prohibited. Weed control is carried out with soil tillage. The harvest is manual, when they reach the optimum point of maturation, situated in the 2nd fortnight of September. The harvest is done in small boxes of 10 kg.
VINIFICATION
These wines are obtained after fermentation at controlled temperature in order to preserve all the aromatic elegance, in wooden vats and stainless steel vats for 20 days. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and is then aged for 18 months in order to enhance its structure and complexity.
