Pauillac

Pauillac is a wine commune (municipality) and appellation d'origine contrôlée within Haut-Médoc in Bordeaux, centered in the small town of Pauillac.

Hugh Johnson said: "If someone had to deploy a Bordeaux commune to head the list, there would be no discussion. It would be Pauillac."

Pauillac includes three of the five Premiers Cru châteaux de Bordeaux: Latour, Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild.

Pauillac wines are often considered to be the quintessence of Bordeaux wines.
