Vanilla, black fruit, roundness and elegance
As befits a Pauillac, this wine is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wine is rich and structured, benefiting from the 2017 vintage.
Fruits like black currant and ripe tannins make a perfect combination.
TERROIR
The terroir presents itself as a vast plane that culminates in the west and gently descends towards the estuary.
It is characterized by a perfect combination of very pure ridges and a subsoil made up of deep aliases.
The vineyards thus benefit from an ideal drainage and irrigation system.
Its good rooting, as well as the extreme permeability of the soil, allows it to resist drought and excess moisture.
HARVEST 2017
The winter and spring of 2017 were generally mild and relatively dry. The rains in June followed by the hot, dry months of July and August allowed the vineyards to produce quality grapes rich in aromas.
Slightly cooler temperatures in September helped to preserve good freshness in our red wines.
In addition, Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers, by their presence and know-how, allowed us to guarantee a quality harvest.
WINEMAKING
The selected plots are monitored throughout the vegetative cycle by winemakers from Baron Philippe de Rothschild, who advise producers on the management of their vineyards, in accordance with the quality requirements of Mouton Cadet Réserve
