This Bordeaux Red by Baron Philippe de Rothschild is a fruity and dense wine in the mouth, expressing notes of strawberry and cherry.
It is the result of a blend of wines produced in the largest wine-growing region of Bordeaux, in the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations, which are then aged under the control of the company's winemakers, and packaged at the Mouton Cadet Winery Centre.
VINEYARD
Bordeaux BPHR Red is produced from a blend of wines produced in the most important wine region of Bordeaux, under the appellations Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur. LOCATION Each grape variety used in the blend of Bordeaux BPHR Red comes from a specific terroir. Merlots planted in clayey and calcareous soils give a good concentration of fruit and body to the wine, Cabernets Sauvignons and Cabernets Francs, planted in sandy and stony soils, make good wines with very flexible tannins.
VINTAGE 2016
The 2016 harvest was generally rainy and cold and required Bordeaux winemakers a lot of finesse and technology to create a great wine. Thanks to a very hot and sunny summer, the red grapes had a good start to ripening. The wines produced by Baron Philippe de Rothschild once again asserted their identity. Yields are low, but the presence on the ground and the knowledge of Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers allowed the production of fruity and dense wines in the mouth.
VINIFICATION
The harvest is removed and crushed and then placed in tanks for alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, in order to preserve all the expression of the fruit. The malolactic fermentation that follows takes place in vats and allows the wines to be rounded and softened.
AGING
The wines are aged in oxygen-protected tanks before being bottled at the Center Vinicole Mouton Cadet. Every care is taken to preserve the aromas of the fruit and the typicality of the wine.
VARIETIES
Bordeaux BPHR Red is produced from a blend of typical Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot (73%), Cabernet Sauvignon (26%) and Cabernet Franc (7%). Merlot brings the roundness and fruitiness, Cabernet Sauvignon the structure and tannic power and Cabernet Franc a touch of refinement.
