Blackcurrant, blackberries, black cherries on the first nose, then notes of brioche, toast, espresso on aeration.
The palate is dense, with a very seductive coated tannic structure.
The freshness of the Cabernet Sauvignon gives length to the assembly, which leaves lingering notes of black fruit in the mouth.
An 18th century mansion, Fonbadet is one of the few castles in the Medoc to be surrounded by a vast park, with an interesting variety of trees, many of which are rarely seen in the region.
The vines are planted on a high gravelly plateau and have an average age of 50 to 60 years. The excellent position of the vineyard, combined with high quality vinification, results in an intense, concentrated, deeply colored, perfectly balanced wine.
For certain vintages, Château Fonbaudet is able to surpass many Crus Classés.
