MARTINI Extra Dry’s rare woods, herbs, citrus and raspberry extracts are the pillar of the 20th century’s defining drink: the Dry Martini cocktail.
First introduced on New Year’s Day 1900, after 10 years of development by Luigi Rossi’s sons, MARTINI Extra Dry has at its heart the violet-scented tartness of Florentine Orris – iris roots grown for three years before being sun-dried.
THE ROOTS OF AROMA
Extracted from the ground, where it grows for three years to later be dried in the sun. Only time can ripen the aromatic oils of our Florentine iris root to release the soft, violet-scented acidity that defines MARTINI® Extra Dry.
OUR WINE AND BOTANICALS
Vermouth cannot be one without the other. Together, they provoke the senses and flood them with their flavor, aroma, texture and color. Our vermouths mix Trebbiano wine from Emilia Romagna and Catarratto wine from Sicily on the canvas to which we apply our botanical mastery.
Aromatic herbs, fragrant fruits, exotic woods and captivating spices are combined in different amounts and forms to produce 'dry-mixes'.
The interaction between these herbs in the extraction process creates a unique flavor for each expression of MARTINI®.
