Amaro is based on the original recipe by Giulio Cocchi, where the absinthe is enriched with rhubarb, quassia, chiaretta and a double infusion of quinoa.
The addition of Cocchi Barolo Chinato to this foundation adds real complexity and depth to this unique product.
A rich, well-balanced vermouth with enough Amaro character. Excellent without anything else and with powerful flavors to enhance cocktails.
Cocchi Vermouth Amaro is based on the styles of vermouth traditionally taken in Turin's cafes after theater trips, hence "Dopo Teatro".
These digestifs were usually served chilled in a small glass with just a touch of lemon zest.
Today it is also a perfect ingredient to add a touch of bitterness to classic cocktails.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Rich, sweet and fruity with hints of bitter wood. Maraschino cherries and plump raisins intertwine with burnt caramel, green twigs and pungent herbal notes, all topped with a sweet jam.
MOUTH
Sweeter than the nose suggests, with rich fruit - baked apples sprinkled with raisins - fruitcake and intense brown sugar sweetness complemented by darker, drier notes of tree bark, damp ground and spices - ginger, nutmeg and a pinch of cloves.
FINAL
Long, with a fruity sweetness slowly giving way to darker and bitter notes.
