Alsace Riesling Bio Schieferkopf Lieu-dit Fels 2017
Located in the town of Bernardvillé, just a few steps from one of the paths to Santiago de Compostela, the vineyards on this plot are planted in the only vein of blue schist in Alsace, a very unique subsoil dating back to the Precambrian (more than 542 million years).
The soil of this plot, which is shallow (20-30 cm), has the particularity of enhancing the beautiful minerality of the wine. The steepness of its hillside (30% gradient), its south-eastern orientation and its very windy microclimate give Lieu-dit Fels its elegant, mineral and tense character.
Tasting Notes
Color : beautiful golden color. Nose : elegant, with mineral notes and aromas of citrus and lemon. Mouth : full of character and tense, with lots of minerality. This wine has saline notes at the end, with good persistence and a beautiful texture.
