A white wine from a historic Douro variety, with great traditions in the Upper Douro, where it is very common in old vineyards and gives rise to wines with great personality.
It was born in a 48-year-old vineyard in Numão, at an altitude of 450 metres, with several grape varieties mixed together, but where all the Rabigato strains were harvested separately.
Vinification and Ageing
De-stemmed grapes, fermentation in stainless steel vats at a temperature of 20ºC, using a vat foot, prepared five days before.
Natural clarification, aging in stainless steel vats, reduced dose of sulfur dioxide and light filtration before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Wine that tastes better than it smells, with a characteristic aroma of the grape variety that evolves favourably over time. Its character is best revealed on the palate, with a vibrant acidity, creamy texture and a persistent finish.
Service
Serve between 8 and 10ºC.
Excellent as an aperitif, although it shines even more at the meal table, especially with fish dishes in the oven or in the pot, such as caldeirada, cataplana or the unsurpassable arrozes. Perfect with soft or semi-soft cheeses.
