Cocchi Americano is the aperitif par excellence, it is a piece of the gastronomic history of the Asti region since the 1900s.
Cocchi Americano and recognized worldwide as the original Americano has been produced continuously since 1891 using only natural ingredients.
To flavor the white wine, a secret blend of herbs and spices is added to the Muscato base for a set amount of time.
In recent years, Cocchi Americano has increased its presence as the perfect replacement for Kina Lillet, famous in cocktails like The Vesper and Corpse Reviver No 2.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE
Spicy and sweet, with orange blossom, orange, brandy, cherry pastille and a hint of bitter herbs, with boiled apples and drops of pear brandy.
MOUTH
Complex but well balanced, with an added bitter and sweet character. Cloves and cinnamon join rich fruits, green herbs and citrus - orange and lemon.
Behind that are additional wine-like notes, providing a backdrop for the plant-based, fruity and spicy flavors.
FINAL
A long, vibrant finish, balancing sweet citrus and herbal bitterness before slowly revealing cinchona bark.
COMMENT
An excellent aperitif, whether served plain, with soda as a spritz or in a cocktail. Fresh and bittersweet tasting.
