“ERDENER TREPPCHEN” is synonymous to a Grand Cru vineyard, very distinctive in the Mosel region, in Germany.
It is one of the few vineyards in the region that is on red slate.
These vineyards, whose origins date back more than 130 years, were never worked until recently and are perfectly well adapted to their particular environment.
THE WINE
Surprisingly fresh and young but aromatically complex and deeply expressive due to its origins in red slate. The insistent minerality of “ERDENER TREPPCHEN” is readily apparent but perfectly woven into the earthy texture of the wine.
THE PROPERTY
Focused on the 'old', the estate boasts some of the Mosel Valley's best-regarded vineyards, and the wines clearly express their cool-climate origins through environmentally sensitive viticulture, rigorous vintage selection and gentle cellar practices.
