The Monkey Bread Gin,
The Baobab gives a fruit whose acidic taste attracts both humans and apes, hence the name "monkey bread".
Especially rich, monkey bread contains six times as much vitamin C as an orange and twice as much calcium as milk.
Cleverly distilled with alcohol from wheat, juniper berries, dried mango, ginger, coriander, manioc, nutmeg, angelica and cardamom, Lord of Barbès gin is also a perfume.
It is the Dutch Doctor Franciscus Sylvius, who is said to have developed in the 17th century, a medicinal drink made from grain alcohol flavored with juniper,
or Genever, which over time has become Gin. From then on, many men cured their ailments with this drink, while others discovered it to celebrate their perfect health. In moderation certainly, because originally gin was drunk neat!
By Appointment to Lord of Barbès!
The Queen of England not yet having thought of ennobling us, we ennobled ourselves on our own. With our real names Lord Hervé Lopez and Lord Vincent Valton, the quest for an exceptional gin has brought us together. Not finding one to our liking, we said to ourselves: "why not create it ourselves? "Ok, you tell us, but who is it, us? Lord Hervé, artistic director, decorator and animated film producer has been established in Barbès for many years. Its boutique-cabinet of curiosities full of skeletons, religious objects and stuffed animals is worth a look. Vincent, he's the hard alcohol expert. He went through the greatest spirits houses, before embarking on the artisanal and somewhat crazy adventure of Gin Lord of Barbès.
A Gin Made in France
Distilled in Bercloux near Cognac, in a copper Stupfler still (the Rolls of stills) by Lord Philippe our Cellar Master, Lord of Barbès Gin is 100% artisanal, organic, and made in France. Our Gin is distinguished by its subtle and fresh taste obtained by the distillation of wheat alcohol, juniper berries, monkey bread (the fruit of the baobab), and 7 plants known to be aphrodisiacs. All the ingredients of our gin are certified organic, we have obtained the AB label (Organic Agriculture), and all our suppliers are French.
The Strongest Gin in the World?
Our gin is very strong and very fragrant, it titrates at 50 ° because a good gin must be dry. True amateurs will prefer it to drink pure at minus 8 degrees or with a green olive like Winston Churchill, but it is also excellent with tonic (our preferred) or even in a cocktail. Our favorite recipe: 4 cl of gin, 2 drops of Angostura, a small piece of monkey bread and ice cubes.
Holy Water
Our water comes from the source of Square de la Madone, which is located in the 18th arrondissement. Drawn at a depth of 740 meters, the water from the sands of the Abien is sheltered from modern pollution, it is regularly checked by the Paris Water Department.
Paris Gin had to have Paris water!
A Pocket Flask
After casting over 100 bottles at the Puces de Clignancourt, we decided to create our own bottle. Blue, to protect the gin from the sun's rays. Flat like a flask to fit in the pocket and consigned out of respect for the environment. Thank you to Waltersperger, Master glassmaker since 1916, who after having signed some of the most beautiful bottles of Guerlain, Chanel, Gaultier, Prada, Kenzo ... agreed to manufacture our only 1000 copies. The production is very expensive, 25,000 € for the mold and almost 6 euros per bottle, not counting the stopper struck piece by piece by Boutroue establishments, this partly explains the high price of our gin, among the most expensive in the world.
Barbès Tonic Water
The English based in India in the 18th century mixed their Gin with quinine and sugar water to guard against malaria. Gin & Tonic was born! Many Gin enthusiasts continue to love this blend, but finding really good Tonic is as rare as finding really good Gin. And mixing Lord of Barbès with the wrong Tonic would be a real crime! That’s why we also sell our own organic Tonic. You will easily recognize it, the bottle is shaped like a lemonade bottle and there is a skull on the label.
Sold only in Barbès and now in Portugal!
Lord of Barbès gin is a rare and precious product aimed at true gin lovers, only 1000 bottles were produced in 2016.
