Created in 2013 at the dawn of the vermouth renaissance, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal is the only vermouth made with Pineau des Charentes and infusions from 37 plants including, of course, mugwort.
Its name comes from the famous agronomist Jean-Baptiste de la Quintinye born in 1626 in Chabanais, requested by Louis XIV's gardener, Le Nôtre, to create the Sun King's botanical garden.
La Quintinye takes us to Versailles in a universe where joie de vivre and opulence reign supreme.
Now, at a time when retro-chic and classic cocktails are all the rage, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal was awarded in 2016 as the best French vermouth in the world by Paul Pacult's Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
This vermouth is made with white Pineau des Charentes, a particular type of French aperitif wine that is not normally found in the way of vermouths. Being unusual makes this vermouth something very special and truly unique.
Magnificently herbaceous in homage to the botanist of King Louis XIV.
Nose : Puffs of summer breeze, full of honeysuckle, hay and subtle apricot.
Mouth : Clear citrus fruits, lavender, fresh herbs from the garden and a little bitter wood.
Final Fruity at the end - lemons, oranges, grapes.
Being so different from other vermouths, La Quintinye Royale Blanc offers something new to create new cocktails.
