Facundo Bacardi Massó, a Spanish immigrant founded the Bacardi company on February 4, 1862 in Santiago de Cuba. After opening a factory in 1910, in Barcelona, Spain, the brand became the first Cuban multinational. In 1960, the family had to move from Cuba and into exile in Puerto Rico. Today, the company sells around 240 million bottles a year and exports its products to around 170 countries around the world.
