Deep, dense colour with glints of violet.
Refined, fresh nose with subtle, elegant aromas of mocha.
Generous on the palate with fruity notes of raspberry and Morello cherry. Ripe, delicate, well-coated tannins contribute to the wine’s power and length.
The finish is subtle and smooth.
Le Blason de l'Evangile is Château l'Évangile's second wine, aged for less time than the first wine and therefore less powerful.
However, they remain in the category of great wines with the particularity of being able to be drunk earlier than their older brother.
The vineyards of the Pomerol appellation are located on a plateau on the right bank of the Dordogne, about 40 km northeast of Bordeaux.
In Pomerol, Merlot is the High King. The clay soils typical of the terroir of this appellation allow the grape variety to express itself like nowhere else.
Terroir :
the grape selected for Blason de l'Evangile comes from clay ridges and silty sands that cover the clayey subsoils. These lighter soils allow for deeper rooting of the vines and better protection from water.
The resulting wine is supple and elegant, lighter and fruitier in style than Grand Vin and therefore more accessible in its youth.
